Who I work with

You don’t need to be fit first

Most people who message me are starting from somewhere complicated. That is the normal case here, not the exception.

Body recomposition

You want to change how your body is built

Build muscle, lose fat, and keep both — through strength training and food you can keep eating, not a twelve-week crash.

Postpartum

You had a baby and don’t know what’s safe yet

You have been cleared, or nearly, and nobody has told you what to actually do. We start where your body is now and build from there.

Prenatal

You’re pregnant and still want to train

Training through pregnancy is not the same as stopping. The lifts get adjusted trimester by trimester so you keep going safely.

Injury history

Your body has a history

An old back, a shoulder that flares, a knee you have stopped trusting. It gets assessed and written into the plan, not avoided.

Full calendar

Toddlers, long hours, or both

Two or three focused sessions a week that still move you forward, with a plan that survives a week that goes sideways.

Serious about strength

You want to get properly strong

Barbell work, real progression, and a coach who competes herself — whether or not you ever step on a platform.

Perimenopause & menopause

What used to work has stopped working

Strength, muscle and body composition all behave differently through your forties and fifties, and most programmes never adjust for it — they just tell you to do more cardio and eat less. Here the training is built for the stage you are actually in: proper resistance work, progressed sensibly, planned around the sleep and energy you have rather than the ones you used to have.

Who this isn’t for: if you want a quick fix, a guaranteed number on the scale by a fixed date, or a programme you can follow without ever being assessed, I am not the right coach and I will tell you so in the first message.

The problem

Everyone has an opinion. Nobody has a plan for you.

One person says wait longer. Another sends a twelve-week programme written for a body with no history and no toddler. A third tells you to just be careful. None of them has watched you move, and you are the one left deciding whose advice to follow.

So the start date keeps moving. You train cautiously and plateau, or you push and something old flares and you begin again from zero. Either way the months pass and you never find out what you were capable of.

Patricia is a fantastic PT who combines strong technical knowledge with a genuinely thoughtful and personalised approach to training.

I think there are plenty of trainers who can help you achieve your fitness goals if you can fit to their cookie-cutter training approach. But it takes a different level of knowledge and experience to know how to adapt that approach to the each person, work around injuries and physical limitations, and still help you progress without compromising your well-being. This is where Patricia really stands out. Her depth of technical knowledge, years of experience and ability to translate that knowledge into practical, individualised training mean that she can find ways to help you work towards the same goals without simply expecting you to fit to a one-size-fits-all programme.

What I appreciate most is that she listens earnestly to my concerns and never brushes them aside. She knows how to modify exercises appropriately while still making sure I work hard and get the most out of each session.

What really sets her apart is how attentive she is to me as an individual. She remembers things I struggle with, even when I’ve only mentioned them in passing, and finds ways to work on them in our sessions. For example, I once shared a funny story about me bumbling my way downhill during a hike and having to climb stairs awkwardly for a few days afterwards. It was just a passing anecdote, but she picked up on what I needed to work on and incorporated it into my training plan.

Since training with Patricia, I’ve become stronger and more confident in movements I used to find challenging. This has also made a difference to my everyday movements outside the gym.

I would highly recommend Patricia to anyone looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable, attentive and genuinely invested in helping you become a stronger, fitter, healthier and more confident version of yourself.

Highly recommend Pat for PT. She is a good mix of serious and lighthearted, very detailed but not over the top for me. When I started, I knew there was quite a lot of muscle compensation. I did alot of release work as I felt stiff.

As I continued the sessions with Pat, I realized that the need for release work went down, I still needed to release, but not aggressively after each session. Then I turned my neck and realized my chronic neck tension when I turned to the left had greatly reduced. I feel stronger and more balanced, and confident to manage my body alignment with the help of Pat. Her background in physiotherapy helped a lot in how she structured the sessions for me. I felt the balance in my body, the strength and also flexibility. She always prioritises doing exercises safely, without me hurting myself.

I also adjusted my diet with advice from Pat, and I love how my body looks now.

A Personal Trainer who truly understands Women’s bodies:

I’ve trained with Patricia (Pat) for about three years and couldn’t be happier. She’s knowledgeable, patient and precise about form, and every session is well-planned, varied and genuinely challenging without ever feeling unsafe. I always feel confident training with her because she understands my body and knows exactly how to push me. Her doctorate shows in how clearly she explains the why behind every exercise. She is also a mother of two and understands women’s body very clearly- I’ve have sciatica and issues with my knee but I’m still surgery free thanks to her🧟🧟. Highly recommend her to anyone serious about getting stronger the right way.

A curated movement assessment first

Your first session is a movement screen and a conversation about your history, not a workout designed to impress you. It is where you see what effective programming actually looks like: every lift that follows is there for a reason you can explain, chosen because your body can do it today and progressed when it can do more.

Progress you can actually see

Load, reps and range go on paper every session. If body composition is the goal, that gets tracked properly too — measurements and photos on a schedule, not a daily weigh-in that tells you nothing. At the end of each phase you get a review: what improved, what we are fixing next, and what is coming.

Sleep, food, water and stress are scored alongside the lifts, because a stalled lift is usually caused outside the gym — and it gets addressed there too.

Meet Patricia

Patricia is the founder of Pr1mera Fitness, a personal trainer and a competitive powerlifter. Her Doctor of Physical Therapy education shapes how she thinks about movement; her coaching experience turns that knowledge into purposeful training.

She is also a mother to two toddlers, aged two and three, so she knows exactly how precious an hour is and how a programme has to survive a week that does not go to plan. She strength trained through both pregnancies and went back to competing in the sport she loves after two children — which is why none of this is theory to her.

Her aim is to help you feel capable, understand your own training, and build strength you can carry beyond the gym. Away from the barbell you will find her doing sudoku, cooking warm meals at home, or somewhere outdoors.

How it works

Three steps, no long sales call

You could be assessed this week. Nothing is written until I have seen you move.

Step 01

Message me

Tell me your goal and where you’re starting from. I reply between sessions, usually the same day.

Step 02

Initial assessment

A movement screen, your training and injury history, and goals we set together before anything is written.

Step 03

Your programme starts

Written for you, coached one-to-one, and reviewed at the end of every phase so you can see what changed.

Frequently asked questions

Should I see a physiotherapist first instead of a trainer?
You are seeing both. I assess the way a physio does before anything gets loaded, and if something needs a scan or a specialist I will tell you rather than train through it.
I haven’t trained in years. Am I too unfit to start here?
No. The first session is an assessment, so the starting load is set from what you can do on the day, not from where anyone thinks you should be.
How much does it cost?
The price is the easy part, and I’ll tell you the moment you ask. What a price list cannot tell you is whether one-to-one coaching from a Doctor of Physical Therapy is right for your body and your goals — that takes a short conversation, not a number on a page. Message me and we’ll know within a few minutes.
Do I have to commit to a package?
Nothing is locked in before we have spoken. How often you train, for how long, and how rescheduling works are all agreed at the assessment — after I have seen how you move, and once you know exactly what you would be committing to.
Can you train me during pregnancy or after birth?
Yes. Pre- and postnatal training is part of my clinical scope, including returning to lifting after a caesarean or a difficult recovery.
I’m perimenopausal. Is strength training still the right thing?
It is one of the most useful things you can do at this stage, and it is one of the main reasons women come here. The programme is built around how you are actually sleeping and recovering now, not around what worked a decade ago. To be clear about where my job ends: I coach your training, not your symptoms. Anything medical, hormone therapy included, belongs with your doctor, and I will tell you when a question is one for them.

Why start now rather than in January

A body compensating around a problem keeps building that habit. Six months of waiting is six months of it setting in, and more work to undo once you start.

Every session is one-to-one and strictly by appointment, so a week only holds so many. Keep putting it off and in six months you will still be wondering whether it would have worked for you. One conversation answers that.
